I love books, too much. I could never read all the books I have but keep buying more if they sound good...
This was a fantastic read. I love classic science-fiction adventure (opera?) novels done well and this is a perfect example. Steve Rzasa's novels keep getting better and this is the best one yet in the series. I did not read Broken Sight which takes place prior to this story but I look forward to doing so.
Overall, the writing is excellent an awesome story and indepth plot-line that expands the created universe. I really hope this is not the end of this series. Such a unique concept for a series.
A must read!
This is truly an excellent book. Awesome story, clean story-telling, little to no swearing which was surprising but very pleasant. I listened to the audiobook and it did seem a little long but I wonder if reading it would have felt different... I will read the next one in the series when it comes out.
A great second book in this series. Excellent story and writing. There were numerous formatting errors in my ebook edition (i.e. missing parts of sentences at the beginning of some chapters, etc.) that I found very distracting.
Overall a great Sci-Fi read. Looking forward to reading the next book soon...
January 1, 2017 - another agonizingly slow day on Booklikes...
I received this book through a Goodreads giveaway to give an honest review. I am pleasantly surprised with the beginning... Very suspenseful and wonderfully written. Looking forward to continuing...
I have finished the book and it is truly a great spy thriller. The writing is excellent and polished and the plot does not languish. It style reminds me of the Bourne movies (although I have not read the books) but by no means is this taken from that. This is new and inventive with excellent plot twists.
My only complaints are my own... there is lots of swearing as the story moves on which I don't feel is necessary. There are two sex scenes which I always feel is not needed in a good book. I have taken a 'star' off for these.
A must read (apparently a movie is in the works) before the movie comes out! I will be reading more by this author.
I got this for $1.99 on sale hoping to buy the others as well after reading it. The rest of the series has gone back to normal price at $7.99 per short story! At under 100 pages each, there is no way to justify the price... Very disappointing.
The story was interesting and well worth $1.99 but I will not continue reading the other installments and $7.99. There is no way to justify this price.
I pushed myself to keep going several times but have finally given up. At times it was very well written and interesting but eventually I could not get by the bad descriptions that periodically cropped up:
"...motors whirred and clunked."
"...an orchestra of clicks, whirrs and beeps..."
" A high-pitched boop..." Is 'boop' even a word?
Is there no better description for engines than 'whirrs"? This is used regularly and I can't get by it...
